Physical Activity Specialist
Tim has recently accepted a post as a full-time Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Brunel University. In the past Tim was employed by Imperial College HealthCare NHS Trust as a Senior Physical Activity Specialist where he worked on the Imperial Cardiovascular Health Programme. Tim first qualified as a British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) Exercise Instructor in 2000 and he is also accredited by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) as a Sport and Exercise Scientist and he is also a Chartered Scientist. Tim graduated in 2007 with a Master’s degree in Cardiovascular Rehabilitation from the University of Chester and he lectures and assesses on the BACPR Exercise Instructor course. Tim is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and he holds a Post Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching. Tim has also published in peer reviewed journals, contributed towards the national standards on physical activity and exercise in cardiac rehabilitation, written book chapters and presented poster presentations at the European Society of Cardiology’s world congress, the Royal Society of Medicine Sports Medicine Conference and at the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation’s conference.
